Amazon ends kindle ebooks "Download and Transfer via USB"

Viewed 43
Amazon has announced that starting February 26, 2025, users will no longer be able to download and transfer Kindle content to their devices via USB. This decision has raised concerns among users about ownership rights and digital rights management (DRM), with many expressing frustration over shifting control away from consumers. While the change is seen by some as an effort to combat piracy, it also limits the flexibility of Kindle users who want to manage their digital libraries across different platforms. Users can still read previously downloaded books and sideload e-books using a USB cable, but the convenience of transferring directly from Amazon will be removed. There are fears this could set a precedent for other Amazon services, including music.
