The establishment of the European Union Vulnerability Database (EUVD) aims to enhance cybersecurity by creating a registry for IT vulnerabilities primarily discovered or reported by European CSIRTs. ENISA is collaborating with MITRE and various operators of the CVE system to ensure non-duplication of efforts and to promote complementary relations. This initiative suggests a shift towards a more autonomous European cybersecurity framework, particularly in response to increasing calls for reduced dependence on American systems for vulnerability management.
